THERAPHOSA & EPHEBOPUS:
Suriname's giant forest floor tarantulas

Lovetarantulas has raised production funds for two new tarantula documentaries -

THERAPHOSA & EPHEBOPUS: Suriname's giant forest floor tarantulas and AVICULARIA: Madam Merian's pink toe bird-eating spiders - a brand new film project that we think will even give Poecilotheria a run for its money!

We have field footage which you will drool over. Our Theraphosa footage is probably the best ever filmed. We have location footage of the striking Skeleton tarantula, Ephebopus murinus plus a host of other species that we came across during our one month filming in the rainforests of Suriname including Tapinauchenius plumipes.

In our second documentary, we take you back to 1700 to tell the story of Madam Sibylla Merian and her iconic painting of Avicularia avicularia eating a humming bird which gave rise to the name 'bird-eating spider'.  As you'd expect, we have some gorgeous footage this beautiful pink-toed arboreal tarantula in the field.

We can promise you two tarantula documentaries that will have you on the edge of your seats. THERAPHOSA & EPHEBOPUS is very much like Brachypelma and Poecilotheria – muddy boots, out in the field searching for tarantulas.
